Mgahinga gorilla National park is found in south western Uganda in Kisoro District and is know as a home of one habituated group of mountain gorillas. Besides gorillas the park has 76 species of mammals. 3 Day Mgahinga Mountain gorilla trekking itinerary
Day 1 Drive from Kampala to Kisoro
Early morning after your break fast you will drive to Kisoro you will stop over on the way have lunch then proceed with the journey to Kisoro. On the arrival you will check into your lodge of choice, because they range from luxury to Budget.
Day 2 Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga
Early in the morning after your break fast you will start off for gorilla trekking in the thick forest well prepared, with the help of the guides to clear for the way to the forest.
Mgahinga forest has one gorilla family which is known as Nyakagezi and this group consists of 9 members. Gorilla trekking takes some time about 3 – 8 eight so some one should be ready so he/she can experience an amazing experience.
When you come across the gorillas you will spend one our with them taking photographs, sitting a round them and looking at them. In Mgahinga forest you will not trek only gorillas but also you will be able to see other primates like the golden monkeys and this forest is also a home to bird life.
After the experience you will transfer back to the booked lodge for dinner and over night.
Day 3 Transfer back to Kampala
Early morning after your break fast you will start your journey back to Kampala you will pas by the Equator take shots, make some shopping, have lunch f its the right time then proceed to the Buganda Drum maker village you will take photos, then proceed to Kampala or Entebbe for your flight.
