2 days gorilla trekking trip Congo

This awesome adventure of your 2 days gorilla trekking tour will give you a chance to see the endangered species of mountain gorilla in Congo and an interesting view of Virunga national park which is the Africa’s oldest protected area.

Day 1: Transfer to Kisoro from Kigali
On your arrival, meet and greet the driver/guide who will transfer you to Kisoro on Uganda-Congo boarder, a journey that will take you through a scenic view of Rwanda’s rolling hills passing via Ruhengeri in the northern part of Rwanda and continuing to Chanika boarder. Finish the border procedures and cross into Uganda. You may have guided nature walk, visit the natural, beautiful-looking Lake Mutanda, surrounded by the volcanoes; take a walk on the shores. Retire at the lodge in Kisoro for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking
After early morning breakfast, drive to Bunagana border within Congo, cross the border and drive to the Park Headquarters to be briefed about gorilla trekking dos and don’ts before setting off into the forest of Virunga national park of Congo for the incredible gorilla trekking experience.

While searching for the Mountain Gorillas, you will be exposed to excellent number of birds and primates which includes; Golden Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Black and White colobus monkey, and giant forest hogs. You will stay with these beautiful primates for one hour observing and taking photographs. Gorilla tracking through the forest, hills, and swamps can be tough, arduous and tiring. Drive back to kisoro, and after refreshments at the hotel, set off back to Kigali in Rwanda reaching in the evening and depart.
