White Water Rafting in Jinja on River Nile Day Trip in Uganda is centered around Jinja on the shores of Lake Victoria. A bustling agricultural and industrial town, Jinja is Uganda’s second largest town roughly 90,000 people after Kampala, Uganda’s capital and a major marketing center for the country’s southern region.

The town offers a variety of recreational facilities for tourists and residents alike but is also renowned as the “Source of the Nile”, the world’s longest river. It is from here that the Nile begins its majestic journey to the Mediterranean, 6700 kilometers away.

But don’t worry, we will not be rafting that far…only the first 20 to 30 kilometers or so. Jinja is approximately one hour’s drive from Kampala making it an easy reach for our White Water Rafting day trip. There is a variety of accommodation available in and around the town, ranging from basic camping to mid-priced hostels.

1 Day White Water Rafting on River Nile  Itinerary

Our company representative will pick you either from Entebbe international Airport for a night in Kampala and then after your breakfast depart for your 1 day trip White Water Rafting on River Nile. On your arrival at Jinja you will enjoy tea with other groups of rafters .  After a quick briefing, you will have your life jackets and helmets provided by Nile River Explorers before heading off 15 kilometers down river to the starting point of the day’s rafting.

En-route you will have time to enjoy a breakfast of any thing you prefer, chapati, a tasty Spanish omelette fruit salad and juice. As Rafting is a physical activity so make sure you have a heavy break fast. Snacks of fruit, nuts and biscuits are provided on the river to help keep your energy levels up throughout the day.

Our rafting start point is on a flat pool just above our first major rapid, Overtime. While our crew unload the rafts and slide them down the ramp into the river you will have time to admire the spectacular view as well as ease your self and changing room provided on site.

As the river meanders through beautiful scenery, we guide the rafters into the mighty challenges of some of the biggest and safest grade 5 white water rafting in the world. Eight major rapids are rafted plus several lower graded runs; all selected to maximize your safety and fun.

At the end of the rafting day we set off to the near by restaurants to have fun and eat as we enjoy the entertainment and after every thing we drive back to Kampala or Entebbe for your flight as you say fair well to Uganda
